The technology choice fell on Augmented Reality, due to the natural opportunity to show the models together with the existing house and surroundings. The technology has come a long way over the last few years, and Intertisement has perfected the usage – especially for outdoor environments – through a wide range of projects utilizing the technology.

The task was to provide at tailored solution, that would be stable for outdoor usage and provide a graphical representation. The main focus was to show the user that the chosen surface was detected and ready to use. The user would then be able to apply realistic 3D models of the desired windows or doors to a realtime view and/or images of their house. Combined with a built-in configuration system, the user is able change between the vast amount of options available. Color, size, form, combinations, unique fixtures etc. are alle customizable, both in realtime and on saved images.

A huge knowledge transfer was necessary, in order to provide Intertisement with unique insight into the construction of the windows and doors. Creating the model catalog and configuration tools needed to support the Rationel product line was an enormous undertaking. The result allows Rationel to expand, change and alter their model content easily and with an instant update to the available catalog in the App. This configuration tool is also built to be intended for other usages, such as website and in-store solutions etc.

Working closely with Rationel through the entire process was an amazing experience. The entire process, from idea to prototype, through development and testing to final launch, was a textbook example of a professional collaboration. All the parties involved are looking forward to a long and fruitful collaboration, providing Rationel’s clients with an ever expanding platform and future creative tools.

We are all looking forward to closely following the results and feedback from the market, listening to the ideas and inspiration coming in, adapting and expanding the solutions required by both the contractors and the consumers.
