LM Wind Power Augmented Reality App
In collaboration with CrossMind ApS, Intertisement developed an interactive experience for LM Wind Power
The initial version of this solution could be explored by visitors at the EWEA 2014 business conference and exhibition. The LM Wind Power stand featured a customized setup consisting of four iPad Air units running an Augmented Reality app developed in a collaboration between CrossMind and Intertisement. The setup made it possible to visualize and interact with an offshore wind turbine, utilizing parts and technology supplied by LM Wind Power.
The app was customized to visualize an accurate representation of the rotational speed and resulting power efficiency at different wind speeds. This allowed employees at the stand to use the app as a valuable tool in order to convey information about the specific product and the technology behind it.
Due to the success of original app, a new version was developed for the EWEA Offshore 2015 conference, which included additional features such as the ability to switch between multiple wind turbine blades with different power efficiency characteristics. An updated UI was implemented, which enabled visitors to participate in the experience using their own smartphones or tablet devices. A large-scale floor print at the exhibition stand made it possible for visitors to experience and interact with a configuration of four wind turbines visualized on an augmented world map.
The updated version of the app was released for smartphones and tablet devices on both iOS and Android platforms.
Intertisement was responsible for the app development, 3D-modelling and AR features. CrossMind created the UI graphics and marker designs.
